KiloByte Collective - My First Hello

Email to the team. Originally written March 2nd, 2026.

Hola.

It was great to bring everyone together for our first Happy Hour.

This is a wild team - each of us is hungry, curious, and have unusual stories - which I hope we will share on a beach in the Indian Ocean or the Mediterranean one day. But I believe we’ve come together because we have something else in common.

Rage. You can smell it on me from a mile. P on the other hand, hides it behind a grin. V feeds it nicotine and silence. A shows calm. M’s brows give it away. M masks it with her niceness. V is a mystery - my guess is that he takes it out in the kitchen!

At KiloByte, our lives are actually simple - We win when we turn this rage into value for others. Solve problems for them. Particularly businesses that are owner/ family led, and have a burning need. It has never been easier to do this, thanks to AI. And AI, like us is still in its Day 1.

KiloByte Primitives:

  1. Our long term goal is to make small businesses AI first, own OS layer for 1-2 segments
  2. Short term goals are to identify right segments, land 3-5 paying customers, and build expertise
  3. We keep costs LOW. This does not mean we’re CHEAP
    4. 100% transparent internal comms, free flow ideation, no silos, no niceties, expletives encouraged, opinions valued, crude humor prized (Alex has the best Hindi jokes)
  4. Ruthless 360* minimalism and simplicity - once this is achieved, automate
  5. We will be connected to the field, always
  6. M word always

Disaster Primitives:

  1. Mediocrity - Not Failure. Mediocrity is not doing the best I can, failure is not the same.
  2. No R&D - Ever changing times, we should lead at the front. Else, irrelevance.
  3. Communication gaps
  4. No Observability
  5. No Risk management

What we’re working on now:

  1. A assessment - we should identify a value prop, get buy in for $ - 2 weeks
  2. Restaurant Agents - Integrate with Clover, Toast, Square and submit for approval - 2-4 weeks total
  3. V/ M/ D - Front Office Agents - 4 days to build demos, then hit the field, validate - 10 days
  4. Sales and Marketing - P and A,
  5. R&D work - OC, VFT, ongoing
  6. Ops - Build our command center - in 3 days
  7. Repurpose voice agents for H - TBD

March is critical - we have to sign our first customers, however small - no excuse. If this happens, liquidity opens up for us - a lot.

I’ll work on building us an internal platform where we can share updates and track everything KiloByte. Will give us direction, visibility, and structure.

Finally, I am profoundly disgusted at losing. It is pathological - every last cell in my body hates it. I hope it is the same for you.

We are in outstanding position, with exceptional elasticity, strong character, fantastic people, and a magical future. We do not know how good we ARE. We will fail more, but win. The key is to show up, be prepared, spread risk, and continue to deliver excellence, because we can.

This is our ride. KiloByte will retire us - because it is us, and it can.

To Valhalla.

Prithvi
